Welcome to the Jungle
Saturday, April 21, 2007
Continuing on with the jungle theme we had picked for LR's room, we decided to get adventurous and paint a mural. Keep in mind that we’re not particularly crafty or artistic, so this was a bold move for us.
We found a safari jeep jungle-themed picture at Murals for Kids that we both liked and projected it on the wall for the mural. For the past week we’ve been painting it and finally finished it tonight.
You can click each of the thumbnails below to see a larger version of each image. Leave a comment and let us know what you think!

First I love that site. Very cool!
And the mural looks great. You guys did an amazing job. Very fun.
You two do such good work at what ever job you are doing. This is great!
Wow love the mural! I am so impressed:)
That looks great! I love the bright colors. Good job.
That is SO cool! I love it! What a great way to get the imagination going!
Wow that is wonderful!! You should be so proud of yourself! Be sure and have a close up picture of it along with the rest of the room to show the judge in court! For D's court I took pictures and even some little fabric swatches on a "scrapbook" type sheet and the judge (male at that) was so impressed :O)
Thanks Suz! I appreciate the tip about showing the judge the photos. The pictures of the room sent with our dossier were of just a "plain" room. Maybe we can swap them out before court.
Not particularly artsy? Huh? That mural is fantastic!!
I've seen murals done by non-professionals and they usually look pretty crummy quite honestly.
Yours is SO cute!
Thanks Valerie! We are working on another one that we will hopefully finish this weekend. I'll post pics as soon as we are finished.
