I know, I go for days (sometimes weeks) without posting and then all of the sudden, there are 2 posts in one day!   Sorry about that, but there just hasn’t been much happening in the adoption world to post about since the rumors of accreditation.

I decided to use this adoption downtime to post about my baby.   No, not the one we’re adopting, but the other one that sleeps in the garage.   Her name is Caliente, she’s red hot, and likes to go topless!   Every June she loves to get dressed up and go see the aliens.   I’m taking her to Roswell to meet the mothership tomorrow!

Okay, before you think I’ve gone completely crazy... let me explain!   Caliente is my New Beetle Convertible.   Some people have dogs they treat as their children...   I have a car.   We take her to VW car shows and dress her up in her Caliente chili-pepper theme.

This weekend is the 8th annual Roswell, NM 2K Car Show where VW New Beetle "pods" caravan in from all over the U.S. to meet up with one another at the "mothership."   We have a lot of fun with the alien-themed stuff, although I think I’d get sick of it if I actually lived there.   Some of the locals are pretty serious about UFOs and don’t appreciate non-believers.

Wish my baby luck and maybe she’ll bring home a trophy.   And if any of you happen to be in (or land in) Roswell this Saturday, stop by the Convention Center and say hello!
