Image of a backup alert warns of a child behind a carI recently read an MSN article stating that at least 2 children are killed and another 50 are hurt in car backover accidents each week.   It’s a very sad article to read but contains a lot of valuable information about child safety.

The article states that SUVs, pickups, and minivans being longer and taller contributes to the poor visibility behind those vehicles.   The families of some of the children are urging automobile manufacturers to add safety warning sensors and rear cameras on all vehicles.

In the meantime, Joe Stirt offered an affordable alternative.   He uses an $18.50 back-up alert device that he ordered from Harriet Carter.   According to Joe, they work even better than advertised!
