We finally made the decision to withdraw from CHI and start over with another agency. It was a very tough decision to make since it feels like we’ve just wasted the last 2 years. If you’ve been following our blog, you know that we’ve made no progress since our dossier was submitted in May 2006. We were never encouraged to switch regions to go independent until last month even though we asked about this back in January. Even after moving to a new region, our agency’s only option for us was to continue waiting for accreditation.

We had been asking ourselves how to know when it was the right time to cut loose and start over. I honestly didn’t think we would do it but after talking to our new agency on the phone, there was not a doubt in our minds about this being the right thing to do and the right time to do it. It just all fell into place and felt right. I mention this because I know some other couples struggle with the same uncertainties and doubts about making this drastic of a move. My suggestion if you are considering switching is to talk to the other agencies and then follow your heart.

We’ve felt more optimistic and in control in the past few days than we had at any point in the last year or so. We’ve spent this week putting our 3rd dossier together and updating our home study. We’re getting to be quite the dossier pros! We should have it all finished up and ready for the apostilles next week.

I want to say thank you to all of you that have left encouraging comments and emails the past few weeks. It really helps having a support system. Wish us luck on our journey with our new agency!
