My First Mother's Day

I hope all the new moms and about-to-be moms out here in blogger land had a happy Mother’s Day.
It was a very special day for me. I’d like to say thanks to all those who took the time to send me email, e-cards, and mentioned me on their blogs passing on their congrats for my first Mother’s Day. (Thanks again, Eric!)
We took my Mom out to eat at her favorite place, Furr’s Cafeteria. It was Liam’s first time to experience a cafeteria-style meal and he didn’t seem pleased about passing by all the food without getting to sample it. Once we were seated though, he dove in and tried a little bit of everything. The fish, okra and of course mac & cheese seemed to be his favorites.
It was also a bittersweet day since it was Rob’s first Mother’s Day without his Mom. After lunch, we all went to the cemetary to place flowers on her grave. After that, we took my Mom home and gave her a framed studio picture of Liam that had been taken a couple of weeks ago. She was thrilled! Since he’s her only grandchild, I’m sure it’ll be the beginning of a shrine-like display. ;-)
The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home with just my 2 boys — which is the best gift I could ever ask for!

Happy Mother's Day!! Sounds like you had a great day. Tell Liam that I have a hard time passing the buffet without wanting to sample everything too. :-) The bathroom at the MOE?? That bad, huh? I'm beginning to think I need to bring a GIANT roll of toilet paper and a gallon of hand sanitizer with me between the MOE and the airport bathrooms. :-)
Happy Mother's Day! I'm glad you enjoyed your day with your mom. I hope Rob is doing okay, as I'm sure it was a hard day for him. Glad to hear Liam is doing so well!
Happy Post Mother's Day!! I can imagine how difficult it was for Rob. I remember my first mother's day after my mom passed away and it was very somber. Please give him our best. I still can't get over how big Liam is getting! He's absolutely adorable. Pasha says hello!
Sounds like you ha a great Mother's Day with your two boys. I know it was harder on Rob this year and I hope he is doing fine. Liam is such a cutie!!

I'm a little behind, because I just realized how important Sunday was for you. A belated "Happy Mother's Day"! I think I'm still getting used to the fact that you ARE a mom now. :-) And I feel so sorry for Rob. I'm glad he was with you and Liam and your mom. Please tell him that I'm thinking of him.

Happy belated Mother's day Dede! I am a little late, still recovering from my Mother's Day with the boys :) So glad you had a wonderful day. I know the day must have been hard for Rob, but I am sure he was thrilled to watch you celebrate your first Mother's Day with Liam. Liam is getting so big! He is so adorable, as are all Podolsk boys :)

Happy Belated Mother's Day. It has been a long time coming, and I can see how truly happy you and Rob are to be parents. God bless you for your patience to meet your perfect little boy Liam. He is adorable. I love the glasses and am truly amazed how much he looks like Rob. I also enjoyed seeing you in the pool together. We've not had that experience yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

My first Mother's Day celebration wasn't as good as yours -- I don't have my Liam home yet, but it was a great blessing to know I'm a mommy too!
